The Rovos Rail Train

The Rovos Rail Train is a luxury train that offers fully inclusive accommodation to select areas including Durban, Cape Town, Pretoria and Victoria Falls and Cairo.

The Rovos Rail can accommodate a maximum of 72 guests.
The train consists of the Locomotive, generator car, guest sleepers, lounge car (26 guests), 2 dining cars, kitchen car, smoking lounge and Observation Car.

The atmoshere onbord the train is traditional, there are no tv's or radios on the train and the use of mobile phones and laptops are only allowed to be used in the privacy of ones own suite.

The Rovos Rail features accommodation in the following suites:

Royal Suite - 16 square meters

• En suite bathroom (Bath and shower)

Deluxe Suites - 11 square meters (Available with lengthways double bed, crosswise double bed or singles)

• Air conditioning

• Luggage shelf, cupboards and safe.

Pullman Suites - 7 square meters (Available with a sofa couch, upper and lower bed or double bed)

Dining

There are two dining areas abord the train which feature a Victorian atmosphere. The meals are served in one sitting only and the dress code is smart casual during the day and formal in the evening (Jacket and tie for men and cocktail or evening dress for women). Breakfast is served at 07:00 - 10:00, Lunch is at 13:00, high tea is at 16:00 and dinner is at 19:30.
